The Illusionist

The Illusionist

The Illusionist is a 2006 drama film written and directed by Neil Burger and starring Edward NortonPaul Giamatti, and Jessica Biel. It is based loosely on Steven Millhauser's short story, "Eisenheim the Illusionist". The film tells the story of Eisenheim, a magician in Vienna, who uses his abilities to secure the love of a woman far above his social standing.
The film begins in medias res as Chief Inspector Walter Uhl arrests Eisenheim during what appears to be a problem in the magic show. Later, the film recounts the story of Eisenheim's life through his struggles in searching his true love and the passion to be one of the greatest illusionist of all time.

The Illusionist is by far one of my favorite movie of all time. The story is so intriguing and creative that I repeatedly watch the movie over and over again. To me this is also one of the most underrated movie of all time. It was given only a 7.6 out of 10 in IMDb. It deserved to be at least a 9 out of 10.

From the beginning till the end of the movie, the story is full of twist and turns. The movie was so unexpected that it makes the watchers even more interested in the movie. At least to me it is.

This movie is one where you need to concentrate, but nothing like the concentration of inception. A wonderfully created plot really holds the movie together as well as talented actors.Filled with suspenseful moments. I would recommend this movie to all movie lovers. I can guarantee that this will be worth your time!!
